Awe of 4 Cubes

Hey there,

 

My first assignment since swapping into Game Design is to create a virtual world where the environment conveys the emotion we’re assigned.

” My emotion was ‘Awe’ YOU WILL FEEL THE AWE OF THE 4 CUBES! There are four cubes that help convey that emotion and you yourself will embark on a short journey to the impossibility of reaching all four cubes. Awe inducing views included. ” (quoted from my itch game page)

This was kind of hard to create since it was my first ever Unity project all on my own. My only other experience was at a Game Jam, where I was a game artist for my team and I got to see the Unity program from a distance haha.

I had an idea of creating a building that every room lead to something awe inducing, but there were some modelling issues I ran into. I was modelling in Maya 2017 and importing into Unity.

My girlfriend at the time was my play tester and oh boy, she kept falling off the map, I had to create some way of preventing others from doing such. I tried to make some walls in my models or make things bigger to solve the issue. People can still fall off if they tried hard enough haha.

I was very new to the coding aspect, so the most technical thing I added were some trigger events around the map so that when you entered certain areas, AWEsome things would happen.
