Dox Bay: The Shoot ‘Em Up

Hello,

This new assignment is to make a 2D Shoot ‘Em Up game with different waves for levels.

I plan to create a game around the animation I created a while back called “DoxBay”

The story is that a little rhombus character goes on a triple layer dream trip through space. The game I want to make will have the player fight their way back to the real Dox Bay.

The levels are supposed to make the player feel certain ways when playing them. I chose these three emotions:

Wave 1 – Calm

Wave 2 – Confusion

Wave 3 – Shock

I want the player to start at around the inner most layer of Dox’s dream, then to fight off the meteor that disrupts Dox’s dream til they’re out. You’re able to fly around in the dream space, and shoot out little parts of your self as the mechanics. The enemies come at you with the surprises.

Developing this game is hard. Mostly because I’m so excited to make the visual parts of the game, that I’m playing catch-up with the code side of the game.

At this point, I’m just hoping I finish in time 🙂 .
