Hey,

This is my artist statement in it’s second work-in-progress stage, the coming weeks in Core Studio Systems: Game will – by force – develop my artist statement for my career.

James W. Berry

Hi I’m James W. Berry, professionally I’d like to go by JW.Berry. I am a motion designer and animator. I make work that is unrealistic in realistic settings. I like the ability to create this juxtaposition, in stop-motion and 3D animation. A work I’m proud of is My Little Brony on Vimeo. It’s a stop-motion short where I expose the darker side of the My Little Pony adult fanbase through the story of one of the characters drawn on a sticky note. The sticky note moves around an apartment leaving a trail of sticky notes until it finds out the creepy truth of the setting it was placed in. That was entertaining to make, and there were shocking reviews from the class I presented it in. I attend Parsons: The New School for Design, majoring in Game Design to learn to make my shorts somehow interactive.
