ENDALL PlayTech game demo

Rohil Aniruth, Jose Deschamps, Justin B. Kinard, and I, James W. Berry created a asymmetrical four player multiplayer game for XBox and PC!

It’s called, “ENDALL” and takes place in space in the midst of an epic battle! ENDALL is a planet sized world devouring demon that is trying to destroy the Fiction 3 team’s home!

Fiction 3 is a power-suited team of heroes, Sniper, Slasher, and Hooken, together they make up their home world’s line of defense against the ENDALL.

The Gameplay

You can play as one of the four characters, Sniper, Slasher, Hooken, or ENDALL.

ENDALL is stationed in the center of the field and the three players fight around it. Slasher is inside of ENDALL slashing around and facing the beast head on. Sniper is flying around ENDALL with Hooken. Sniper shoots out powerful bullets and a sub bullet that can heal any of the other two hero players. Hook can shoot power blasts from his suit’s gloves with rapid speeds. ENDALL’s powers include: spawning zombies on itself to attack Slasher; Creating fireball attacks from two nearby portals it controls that attack everyone; summoning a swarm of creatures that fly off the screen to come back and target all the heroes; and lastly ENDALL can attack the heroes with spikes from its four spots controlled by the ENDALL player.

The Art

I love talking about the art to ENDALL. I had fun combining this project with my assignment in my CG class which was to create a simple machine. I chose to model a robot for that class. When it came to the group game, I was in charge of character design. We decided to make the game 2D sprite based, but I did not want to create brand new characters in 2D pixels. Instead I chopped up my 3D models and took 2D outlined images of them to be pixellated into our playable heroes. This all helped with advertising the game, which looks really cool in 3D with the ENDALL as the 2D background looking creepy! I also made “Dear ENDALL” Posters to hand out to players of our game.
