capitalism: an economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
The panel was a conglomerate of 3 sections of sustainable systems. The conversation was extremely interesting. This was my favorite class of the semester. We talk about Kanye west being a figure in capitalism. He was being compared to Andy Warhol. We talked about wealthy taking advantage of artists and designers. We talked about Kim Kardashian buying clothes and wasting money , and clothes. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are both giants in the fast fashion industry. Kanye is a fashion designer, who makes new designs every season, and Kim is an over consumer. Kim’s name itself is so valuable that she’s a walking brand, whatever she does is seen as the cool thing to do. The conversation that exposed the flaws in our style of government. It was eye opening to see the flaws in a government style that I had accepted since birth. We have people . in power who determine everything. Many times these people are under educated and it reflects in the way our country is run, the way the planet is being treated and why we continue to ruin the environment.
