Europe, avant-garde artist, architects and designers believed the future must be a machine age. The industrial movement impacted the artistic approach of American design. Artistic approach to things began to fade. The efficiency is being challenged when you create something artistically. You cannot perfectly mass produce something artistically, there will be subtle differences. The machine systematically creates things and has a better chance of being perfect in a shorter amount of time. Art begins to create the label of “one of a kind”, making the value of products rise simply because it is unique and cannot be replicated.
