David Bowie was an English singer, song writer and actor. His official name was David Robert Jones, he changed his last name to Bowie because people were often confused him with Davy Jones of the Monkees. So, Bowie renamed himself after the 19th century American pioneer James Bowie and the knife he had popularized. I choose this artist because David Bowie is one of my fashion idol. His fashion evolution was Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin San, the thin white duke. Just like how Vogue writes about him: “He was a dapper gentleman and a stylish freak.” I admire how adventurous the way his fashion were, he challenged gender differences, and he was so brave to be an “outsider” just like him say.
David Bowie started a big success with his first single- “Space Oddity”, then he continued his success with any other album “The Man Who Sold the World”. In 1972, he introduced his character Ziggy Stardust to the world with his new albums “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spider Man from Mars”. This creation of his new character made him became a worldwide superstar.
