reflections

The process of doing the research paper helped me to know the life experiences of the artist, David Bowie had created himself a lot of character: Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and the thin white duke.  I elected Ziggy Stardust as the main focus for my research paper and by learning facts about David, it helped me to understand why the artist was dressing in the way that he was dressing. He purposely dressed in women clothing and futuristic garments to create the alien vibe of  Ziggy Stardust. And by learning the style behind the famous Japanese designer Kansai Yamamoto that he worked with, I was able to identify the elements that he put together to create the looks for Ziggy, which were futuristic, cross-gender, bold and brashy. I found that the style of the thin white duke and Ziggy Stardust would make a good combination. As a result, I combine both the classic style of the thin white duke and the boldness of Ziggy Stardust together to create my studio project.
