Project: Issue on Cyber Bullying
My project focuses on the issue of cyberbullying. I want to emphasize on the consequences and trauma which people resulted from cyberbullying. The final product will be a life sized installation that allows visitors to step on the “computer screen” and join in the installation. My specific audiences are mainly the teenagers and young people who engage actively in social media life. We are all relate to this issue and I hope audiences may recognize the severeness of cyber bullying.
I put an image of computer screen on the biggest board below. And people hanging in the spaces and lying on the board with symbolic body gestures. These people have psychological illness which resulted from cyber bullying. The boards they’re standing will be written with curse words. Behind these people will be the background. I really want to use colors to show the contrast between internet and reality. I painted the background in vivid and saturated colors but people in grayscale. The vivid background symbols how people wish to portray themselves or how they portray their expectation of others. Grayscale people symbolizes the trauma they undergo and how they’re isolated from cyberbullying. The contrast illustrates the circumstance of cyberbullying victims strive under the superficial internet. There are keyboard buttons fallen from the boards illustrating how people are fallen from the words and internets.
