Bridge 1: “Selfless Selfies” Persona Cards

  1. “Selfless Selfie” series 1: This artwork presents where I come from. The scenery in this artwork is Victoria harbour, which is the most famous place in Hong Kong.

2. “Selfless Selfie” Series 2: This artwork presents my favourite animal – the pigs. In my daily life, I use piggy to represent myself.

     3. “Selfless Selfie” Series 3: Every artist has his or her own personal icon. For example, Takashi Murakami uses colorful sunflower with smile face to present himself. This cartoon girl is my personal Icon. I designed it when I was with long hair and wearing caps.

4: “Selfless Selfie” Series 4: This artwork might be the one looks most alike a selfie of me, but I present my selfie in an abstract way, which makes it more artistic.

5: “Selfless Selfie” Series 5: This artwork is not only present myself, but also the social issues that people like using these kind of Apps to communicate by losing the real talks and communications. I used five logos of famous social media Apps to replace my face.

6: “Selfless Selfie” Series 6: In this artwork, I also use another thing to replace my face, a snapchat logo. Also, on my cap, there are two kinds of Cantonese foods, which also shows where I come from, just like what I did in Series 1.

Inspiration.

Reflection

Obviously, according to my skin and hair color, you can know that I’m an Asian. And my hometown is the place with long-going tradition. That is, China. Chinese tradition is world-known by the colorful patterns and its unique style. In the video, I can feel rich traditional style in this music, which is about Latin style. Musician use deep base and pluck strings to create this the effect of Latin style, which is just amazing and let all the audience, also me, to get into their performance. To improvise and create, I would  symbolise my tradition to present or improvise all of my performance. For the Chinese tradition, I would pick the most traditional instrument and the significant patterns to improvise a show. In other words, my traditions and my daily life experiences give me the ability to improvise and create.
