The two quotes from Christopher Breward’s aphorism that grabbed my attention the most was “Fashion does not define. It is instead a term that demands definition”. It describes how fashion can be expressed than define in a way depending on the person’s style and the way they wear their outfits. I agree with his quote on this because In my opinion I see fashion as an expression out to the world unlike a definition because I sense fashion is to be seen by people by the way they grab people’s attention. They have fashion week for a reason because it connects people together to watch designers creation down the runway and gives a sense of emotion towards the garment. Fashion is define on what the viewers perspective on the garment than actually having a definition is it is the viewers eyes on the garment than the designers. Another aphorism that grabbed my attention was “Fashion is intensely personal, in the same way that poetry is intensely personal. It is a medium through which personal stories can be told, memories relived and futures foretold”. I would have to agree because I feel like it can be personal for most people in a way they have a personal connection with a garment. For others they would have a garment they favor the most, because of the amount of times they wore it. The more the person wears the garment the more memories they will have about it.
