Star Trek used its platform to bring about change in the real world by tackling social and political issues through science fiction storytelling. In order to convey this, I am going to make a video. I will use clips from the show, news reels from the time, and interviews with the actors and creators of Star Trek. I will compare moments in the show to political issues of the time and artistically show the connections between the two. The interviews will give insight to the goals of the show as perceived by those involved.
