In this project, I made an animation about domestic violence.

In the research process, I watched lots of documentaries and films about domestic violence, and the statistic shows that over 80% of the victims are woman and children. Thus I set my main character as a woman. Also, I found out the thing that drove me crazy is that most victims just keep their mouth shut and pretend everything’s OK. They would always say, “it’s my family member, I can forgive him, I will be fine.” However, facts are never what they expected. So in the animation, I designed a woman with a face mask that’s been stitched on her face, and she took lots of  efforts and time to pull off that mask and finally revealed her badly bruised face. I want to promote the idea that the victims should seek for help and face the issue instead of hiding it which could harm them even worse.
