Board Game Project (Week 1)

Our Board Game revolved around a 6 x 6 composed of cards, all with effects, in which players have to find 2 “Intel Cards” in order to claim victory. Players take turns picking cards from the board, and all cards on the game had a setup like this:

The would come with:

  • A name
  • A description of what it did
  • Monetary Value
  • Difficulty Value

There are 3 types of cards:

  • Trap Cards: They possess effects that alter the state of the board, such as shuffling rows or columns. The Monetary Value on these cards represent how much you get if their effect is resolved. The Difficulty Value represents the level of a Gadget card that would negate the effect.
  • Gadget Cards: They are cards on the board or on the Gadget Deck that players can buy to negate the effects of traps. The Monetary Value on these cards represent how much you need to buy them. The Difficulty Value represents the level of the gadget, allowing you to negate traps of the same level.
  • Intel Cards: These cards are your objective. When one is flipped, you get the chance to Flip another card, and if it is another Intel Card, you win.
