Reflection: Lyft, Stripe spend lavishly to kill San Francisco’s homelessness relief measure

” San Francisco has a homelessness epidemic that is both heartrending and a threat to public health, and it has only worsened for decades and continues to get worse even now. There are many different factors behind this crisis, but one incontrovertible fact looms over every explanation: there isn’t anywhere for homeless people to live, and housing is the most reliable solution to homelessness. Accordingly, the city of San Francisco’s Prop C is proposing to tax its giant, super-profitable, tax-avoiding tech companies (with a gross turnover exceeding $50m) to build housing for 4,000 homeless people.”

Honestly, I do not really understand this solution. There are many homeless in New York City as well. Some of them threaten me with something dangerous. I actually have many bad and dangerous experiences with them. It sounds I could be seen very mean to them, but it is true. When I came to the first time, I gave my food to homeless people or I bought some drinks and snacks for them. Of course, some of them just said thank you to me. But many of homeless people just told me “I hate this food why you give me? give me another food.” or “I do not eat the food which I got from Asians, I hate Asians.” They made me feel really bad. Also when I was walking on the street, one homeless guy came to me and my friend, and he held our hands, and nobody helped us. This happened was in 5 mins but we feel these 5 mins are five hours. Finally, a policeman came to us, and he took the guy. Based on my experiences, for me, homeless people are a threat. If I were an American citizen, I do not want to pay any tax for a threat.
