Project 4: Undisturbable Imagination

I was a child with a lot of imagination, and it was not easy for anyone to disturb me once I was playing with Lego.

In my grandmother’s home, I had huge set of Lego, and I was playing with it rather than hanging out with my friends outside.

In my grandmother’s room, there is a balcony in front of a garden, and there was a huge cherry blossom tree in the garden.

For this project, I decided to draw a Lego sculpture of “imagination” in Japanese, and draw the view of garden behind it.

Although the environment was nice for child to explore, I’d rather stayed home and play with Lego with nice air conditioner.

The drawing is expression of how I was in childhood.

I intended to draw the Lego with detail, and used other technique for the room and the tree to emphasis the Lego.

This colorful Lego is an expression of “childhood memory.”

I chose to use dark blue for sailing and floor to compact the atmosphere.

Process:

I tried to remember how my grandmother’s house look like. Also the brainstorm.

Made the composition of the work.
